The Auction Highlights: Budget Caps and Key Details

Held at the prestigious Wave International Hotel in Ranchi on Saturday, May 30, the player auction saw intense bidding wars. A pool of 275 talented cricketers registered for the draft, each hoping to secure a spot in one of the six franchises. Every franchise operated under a strict and equal salary cap of ₹50 lakh, forcing team managements to strategize carefully and balance big-name acquisitions with hidden local talents. The tournament is scheduled to commence on June 10, promising to provide an exceptional professional platform for local players to shine.

In a historic bidding war, Koylanchal Super Kings broke the bank to secure the services of young wicketkeeper-batter Robin Minz for an astonishing ₹15.25 lakh.

Mumbai Indians star becomes most expensive pick in Jharkhand T20 League, as Ishan was acquired by Santhal Strikers for a slightly lower but still formidable sum of ₹14.7 lakh. This unexpected turn of events has highlighted the league’s focus on rewarding emerging local talent. Chota Nagpur Royals also made their intentions clear by securing the highly rated Virat Singh for ₹13 lakh, making him one of the premier signings of the day.

The remaining teams also made calculated moves to optimize their ₹50 lakh budget. Jamshedpur Steelers focused on a blend of youth and experience, signing Md. Kounain Quraishi for ₹12.5 lakh and bolstering their all-round options with Sahil Raj for ₹8.75 lakh. Dhanbad Diamonds targeted bowling strength, securing highly rated pacer Sushant Mishra for ₹11 lakh and adding depth with Pankaj Kumar for ₹10.75 lakh. Meanwhile, Ranchi Titans made smart acquisitions by signing Shikhar Mohan for ₹11 lakh and Rajandeep Singh for ₹9 lakh.
